Welcome to the Jacksonville MABL/MSBL Website. We are the local chapter of the MABL/MSBL
that is headquartered in Long Island, New York. There are over 40,000 members all across the
U.S. and Canada. Our local league is 12 teams strong and growing. We are now in our 20th season
here in Jacksonville. The league has room for all levels of players, we have ex-pros, ex-collegiate,
ex-high school players and even ex-little league stars. We are proud to be a wood bat league.
The MABL/MSBL offers regional tournaments year round in the best locations, most use major league
facilities. These tournaments offer different age divisions and metal or wood bat divisions. We have
a national magazine that keeps us updated on the different leagues and tournaments.
more about us
What a season! What a year! What
great parody and competition. Congratulations to all!
We are growing and getting stronger every year.
I would like to thank all the coaches for their
time, effort and patience. The weather has dealt us a tough hand, but it has
come to an end. We will be starting the play-offs this coming Wednesday, weather
permitting.
I would like to congratulate the 2 teams from the
finals last year, the Indians and Outlaws, for winning their respective
divisions and earning a first round bye. The seedings are as follows:
1 - Indians
2 - Outlaws
3 - Dolphins
4 - Vikings
5 - Red Sox (by virtue of tie-breaker with the
Braves)
6 - Braves
Home games will take place at the "home team's"
field unless there is a scheduling issue. In that case it will be played at JP
Small or another available field. Also, please note, all games were scheduled
with consideration of the Jaguars, Gators and Seminoles schedules. Keep in mind
that we have more storms coming.
I'd like to thank several people for their hard
work. Many of you do not see or know of the work that is put into the league.
First and foremost, Norm D'Accardi. Norm was President of the league for at
least 10 years and has been a guiding force even after he stepped down. I may
currently hold the office of President, but without Norm we would all be lost.
Unfortunately we have lost one of our long standing board members. Denny Shannon
was a founding member of this league here in Jacksonville. He has contributed
greatly with his visions of growth and spearheaded our league's participation in
numerous tournaments. I am sure he will continue to contribute to the league
even without the title. I feel just as certain Tomy Brown will continue to grow
into his role and help fill this void. Paul Miller has done a fantastic job with
the league's website. I don't think anyone will argue that this is the best
website we have ever had and Paul has ideas to make it even better next year.
Our Vice President, Vic Miller, acts as my sounding board and conscience. He has
proven to be invaluable to me and the league with his input. Finally, but I
assure you not least, there is Lyndsay. He acted as President for a couple of
seasons and has been on the board for several years. More importantly he has
been an extreme help to me when I need something done. I hope he continues to
serve, but I know this will be difficult for him in this upcoming season.
Thank you all for making this league work,
Brian
